mail order?

#1 Post by col »

Hi, I'm thinking of getting some power pro braid, 300yrd 30lb, from this American mail order site http://www.affordablefishing.com/.
Just wondering if anyone has used them?
The braid costs $18:85 and it is $10 postage for two spools to Ireland, seems pretty good.

Also I wasnt to order a reel from Harris Sportsmail, it's an ultralight so only weighs 5 oz, anyone any idea how much postage will cost or has anyone used them before?
Any info would be great.

I think I just made my 100th post!!!! :D :D

col - i've used them on several occasions for Power Pro and other bits n pieces.

Adam is a true gent - very fast email to confirm things and shipping is extremely fast and on all occasions he has managed to help out to avoid customs/tax charges.

Highly recommended.

Col,

I ordered a rod and reel from Harris's a couple of years ago - helpful bunch and delivery was fast to Dublin. Well packaged too. If you send them a mail or give them a call, they'll tell you the cost. Different suppliers use different mail services.

Hi Col,
Adam is the best guy on the net to deal with, I get all of my stuff from him - he also has the best prices.
Cheers

A standard beach sized fixed spool costs about 13 sterling p&p to Dublin from the UK, less depending on who you deal with.

You might get it for a little less as it's only a small reel. Give them a shout and they'll give you a rough idea.

Thanks for all the replies. Harris finaly got back to me and amazingly for the reel and a pack of lures postage is only £4.95. Not bad at all. The reel is a Cortland cx ultralight for £17

Now, however thats got me a bit stuck. I had tought it would be a lot more, so got geared up to buy the more expensive shimano sedona from Adam instead, as I tought it would end up being just a tenner or so more expensive. It will probably be much more now.

Anyone bought a reel from Adam and how much was the postage?

Thanks again, any advice very welcome,
col
