I fished Kells Bay Kerry 2 nights ago 2 hours before high tide. I caught a lot of mackerel with feathers and a 2 kilo Ballan Wrasse with lug and a float. My 1st time catching this species. They put up a great fight.
I went again tonight and got 1 mackerel 1st cast. That was it for the mackerel. No more after that. I also caught 3 poor cod on small hooks and lug.

Re: Kells Bay
Nice one on the Ballan. I was there 2 weeks ago and a fella beside me said he had a big ballan follow his lure right up to the rocks, I took no notice of it, never seen a ballan there before, so that good news. For the mackerel, I find a 3oz lead at distance and let it sick right down, found them to be tight to the bottom all year even at LW.
