Telegraph Pole Howth 30.08.2020

#1 Post by Gonzo »

When: 30/08/2020
Where: The Telegraph Pole Howth
Duration: 09:30-15:30
High Water: 10:44
Equipment: 11ft bass rod with shimano 4000 reel, 9ft spinning rod with shimano 4000 reel, 15ft beachcaster with rovex 9000 reel.
Bait/Lures: Float fishing on the 9ft rod, feathers and lures on the 11ft rod, pulley rig with mackerel on the 15ft rod.
Conditions: Clear blue skies
Result: 1 pollock & 1 dogfish

Decided to give this spot a good bash with multiple tactics, on the float, on feathers and static bait to see what it might throw up. Within the first 30 minutes or so I had caught everything I was going to catch for the entire day, a pollock and a dogfish. Lost a tonne of tackle too so I think I might stop using feathers here and stick to static baits.

Fine day for it anyway! The mackerel are hard to come by in North Dublin at the minute.
