Shannon Estuary

#1 Post by Dave F »

Going to take a spin down over the weekend and try for some ray or huss. Looking at the shore mark guide I was thinking of Poulnasherry on the west side of the mouth of the bay, about where the road finishes, or go the limerick side around Loughill, but has anyone fished it well recently and have somewhere to recommend? Will have squid, mackerel and sandeel with me.

Poulnasherry is fishing well as it gets dark. I've had bull Huss, dogs and Ray's once the sun has set. I've been there during the day a few times over the summer and blanked each time. The last time I was there during the day, I counted 10 rods and didn't see one fish caught, and I was last to leave
