I have a theory that it's the people who make the locks for my shed who are robbing the stuff, i think its a conspirecy by the lockmen to make bad locks so that they can take my fishing gear :)
Ah well hopefully i'll be able to replace the essentials soon enough!
Well most of it anyway i also had some cane rods and an old centre pin reel and flies and stuff from the 40's n 50's that i wanted to clean up and repair, ah well thats life i suppose!

I was broken into just before Christmas, when I was away. They were disturbed by the neighbour who saw tha garage light on. Apart from cash and my new jacket, they only took a cheapish telescopic spinning rod and Abu f/s reel and my big box of assorted hooks, swivels, links and so on. I didn't believe it was gone until I found myself looking in the same place for the third time! They left the mulitpliers, boat rods and beachcasters. The odd thing was that they left a new laptop that was smaller than the box of hooks. So I suppose I was very lucky; I just have this vision of someone dressed in my new jacket, with a rod and reel in one hand and a big component box under the other arm leaping over the garden wall...

What about getting the gear insured? Should come under house insurance, I would imagine.
My bag with all of my best bits in it was robbed last year just off Pearse St. Back window of the car smashed and they had to go to the hassle of dropping the back seats to get into the boot.

a mini disc player which i found in the bushes the next day, and about 15 euro in 1,2 and 5 cents??
The secod time they broke in the back kitchen window and walked out the back door, nothing touched or taken??

The whole lot was takes from my shed. About €2,500 worth.
Checked out the house ins and got the whole lot replaced with new gear. :D :D
Anyone know if you need anything special on your policy to cover fishing gear in a shed?
And on the subject of insurance, suppose you hypothetically slammed the boot lid on the tip of your rod (or dropped a fish on it, a la John Wilson :) ), would having an all risks policy cover you?
