Fishing on the east coat around Dublin is no Mecca, but been disappointing for myself and my mates over the last few months. Every trip is great craic but the fish have just not been there, never had to unwrap so many rockling from my rigs. Even the coalies and whiting didn't show for us this year.
Has anyone else had similar experiences recently? Would like to know if this is a general trend this year or if we've just been shite this winter.

Had similar. Much harder work even than last year to get a couple of fish and only a few really good sessions. Looking forward to the bass and smoothies now but for the most part that means a drive too.

Re: East Coast Consensus?
Fishing off sand has been sh1te all winter.
Deeper shingle venues have been far superior; Wicklow north beach, roney beach & courtown forest (Dodds rocks) have fished well at times for decent sized fish.
Come mid April there will be a few spring/summer species about; not long now!!

Spent all afternoon on Morriscastle for one flounder. Think I might try either Ballinoulart or stay closer to home and try Greystones north beach tomorrow. Not fished there before.

Re: East Coast Consensus?
Fishing is better between Dublin and north wicklow than anywhere else at the moment. In the last 3 days I have had, whiting codling dogs pouting pollack bass plaice 3beard rockling and shore rockling. Stick at it.
