Valentia Island

#1 Post by donal domeney »

First session last night on the pontoon at Knight's Town, between the showers. Well it looked nice before I started. :?
Fishing:17:30 to 18:45
Bait: mackerel on both rods
High water: about 16:00
Conditions: I should have gone to the pub
First cast and before the second rod was out of the bag It was "please don't be that" but it was   a dog. OK, banked saved and there was something as mad as me out in this weather. Next fish in was what I came to catch a nice huss just over 9lb.

Next was an other dog followed by 2 more huss and an other dog.

Session 2 cancelled due to rough weather and a rougher head.

Session 3, back to the pontoon for some of the same.
First fish in was a dog, OK I can live with that, blank saved.
Next up was a double huss, sadly the bigger one did not want to wait around for his photo to be taken. Nice to see small huss in the area.

After that it was steady fishing with a mix of huss and dogs.

Fished for about two hours in blustery conditions with the worst of the conditions inside of me.
ended up with 5 huss and 3 dogs
