South coast England info

Hi all, ive a friend in Horsham about 45 mins from the southcoast and willing to drive west to portsmouth or east to Eastbourne - he hasnt a clue of the fishing over there - but is willing to be a good host
is the fishing any good over there - or more importantly worth the effort

it looks like very uniform coast line and has hit and miss written all over it - i would want my cards marked before making the effort

any info or resources to check out would be great
