Hi Everyone,
Recently I purchased a few uptide cod rigs from GREYS. I got a deal to get them around 1.20GBP so I decided why not. Usually I make my own,, but why not to have a spare ones...
The rigs are fine but the clip/boom which holds the weight is very low quality. During the cast it broke resulting a lead to be lost...
so it only works if you drop it in front of you from a boat/yak.
Does anyone have any experience with other Greys rigs?

Re: Greys rigs
Buy them myself for the shore. Yip, they are reasonably cheap and they are just a very handy back up to hand-made ones.
Haven't had a problem with any of them, they seem reasonable quality.
No experience with the uptide rig you are talking about though..

Re: Greys rigs
you get what you buy they are not up to any kind of pendulum type casting I always remove the mainline and put 70/80 breaking on for safety snoonds and hooks are ok but use my own snap links to be sure to be sure.
if you can get in bundles of 10 far cheaper or more they are worth the effort otherwise make your own

I have not fished in two years hoping to change that this year with anything ?

Re: Greys rigs
As with any brand rig I personally don't recommend all cheap components and are basic throw away rigs. Only pre tyed stuff I buy are feathers and hockeyes and the likes also windon leaders, bite trace n rubbing leaders for sharing. I make and sell my own shore rigs.
