Kilcoole beach

#1 Post by florinc20 »

Location: Kilcoole beach
Tide: Low tide @ 8:30 PM
Weather: windy SSW and a bit choppy at start:
Bait: Lures

Despite the windy forecast with chances of thunderstorms I decided to try an evening session after work yesterday. Just as I arrive at the beach sun started shinning and wind was dying down.
Few casts in and I got a hit...it was way too close in to be anything else than a bass...and so it was. Little fella but a bass nonetheless. First one this year :D
After another half an hour of picking up only weeds i got another hit...another bass. Quick photo and back it goes.
Nothing else until the end of the session...except a dolphin that was playing around within casting distance from shore. Never saw one so close to shore before.

All in all really happy with the result.

Nice to see fish here again. It used to be a great venue with juniors often winning heaviest fish in comps as they were casting close in.
Thanks for report
Too many lures ... not enough time...
