The Estuary
Myself and gearoid fished a new mark on the Shannon estuary this morning. gearoid fished it two weeks ago and had great results so a plan was put together tides picked bait sorted and we set of to give it a proper session. The ground was so rough that we where only managing to land every 2nd or 3rd fish. The fishing was so hectic from tying leaders rebating rigs scull dragging fish over the snags as fast as possible that we had to stop fishing for 20 minutes as we physically couldn’t reel anymore fish in as fast as we had to to clear the snags. We ended up with two doubles a 12lb 10oz Huss and a 12lb4oz ray. 20 fish landed and probably the same amount lost to snags. unfortunately the ray didn’t want it’s photo taken and folded her wings in so photos do not do it justice but it was about 4” thick and was weighed on a certified scales.

Re: The Estuary
Two fine fish there, pity the ray was a bit camera-shy; perhaps she was a bit conscious of her weight!
