it has crept up on me, will be away for a few weeks in NZ and based in Auckland. I wont be bringing any fishing gear with me but wouldnt mind trying around the city and hinterland. Is it possible to rent shore fishing gear or would i have to go down the route of a guide? Anyone any experience over there
thanks

Re: Auckland advice
Get onto the WSF forum Brian and get some info there. Bound to get plenty of advice, maybe even from some of the local NZ lads there if you're lucky.
Get the homework done! It'd be crazy to fly over to the other side of the world, a fishing mecca, and not have something pre-arranged..

Re: Auckland advice
I have one local lad in auckland lending me gear after trying the forum fishing.net.nz - result
going to go after the Kahawai in and around the city - seems like they will still hit the lures in the winter - 2-5 lbers will keep me happy
plenty of reading time on the plane to shore things up
