a bit further north but I had a cast at rosslare and currracloe sunday . Both places produced schoolie bass on crab but a lot of free floating weed about and spider crabs. The weed situation wasnt unbearable but annoying

Not heard Anything Jaygo. The usual spots will all be worth a go at night with the calm weather at the moment.

well what can i say i had the best week ive ever had over in wexford conditions just before the storm were perfect first day i fished rosslare up by the tackle shop as i had some crab and rag to collect ive had small bass every cast on either bait or lures small fish but great fun...

next day bright sunshine flat calm sea i was thinking this is going to be bad but bait in the sea is better than the fridge..gets to the chosen beach and for three hours had to contend with spider crab after spider crab nightmare..

then just before high the rod goes over on the stand clutch screaming and am thinking seal???

nope bass 9lb 14oz i couldnt bounce them scales anymore lol....after that i just sat down on the beach didnt even cast out...packed up and visited the pub were many guinness were downed.

next day the wind had cropped up a bit and conditions were ideal and from the off i was into bass most over 5lb i couldnt believe it fishing doesnt get much better and ended the day with a 7lb er...i was in dreamland..

next day was a family day visited new ross and just had to go and check out the carp fishery there as thats what i do back here match fishing nice place and not a bad tackle shop plenty of frozen baits ..

anyway onto the next day it was a no go after the storm through the night the weed was a joke like a football pitch on every beach same the next day but the day after i managed a few hours and it looked spot on but the fish seemed a lot smaller but after catching another 6 with the best 4lb i wasnt complaining ...the first two days were what fishing dreams are made off...

roll on my next visit...

just hope the spider crabs are gone they cost me some tackle...couldnt believe they can snip through a whole rig with barely any movement on the rod....
