People:Just me

Duration:5.30 pm until....

Tide:High at 21.30

Weather:Cold, breezy

Bait:Fresh lug, tipped with squid

Rigs:

Results: Frostbite, and a few codling.

Report:Fished Ballinakil, just beside the ferry from 5.30 pm. By 8.15 had landed one flounder and figured there were no cod in that part of the river. As home was north of Mooncoin I decided to try the top of the tide in Grannagh. Was back in the water by 8.40 at the boat club and very quickly landed a pair of cod, largest just under 2lb. this was followed soon after by a smaller one and a few more missed bites. With high tide in Grannagh about 9.40 the place went dead. Stayed until about 10.20pm and called it a day. Would love to hear any other reports from up and down the river around this time.

Hi Pollocks,

havn't heard anything at all of late, I didn't think anyone was fishing lately down that way, not many reports. Then again the weather hasn't spurred too many people out to go haulin 4 -6in coalies! We need a good southerly blow to get things going.

Was thinking of getting out this weekend again but the high tides dont really suit for dusk/ dark fishing. Any thoughts on where I might go for a bit of sport. Anywhere within reason will do. Thanks in advance.

Hello there pollocks. A mate of mine fished woodstown beach on Monday night and had plenty of flounder to 36cm. Lug and crab.
