Hello all,
I'm looking to get back into a bit of shore fishing. It will be mostly rough ground bait fishing along Galway and Clare coasts. I'd like to get something that will get me a bit of distance but without going mad price-wise. It will be max 4-5 trips this year I'd say.
I'm looking at Daiwa Crosscast or Emcast rods with a fixed spool setup. If anyone has any experience of either of these can you let me know what you think, please?
Thanks,
Pat

Thanks Ste I'm sure that's a fine rod. I had a wiggle of the Daiwa rods at the Angling Show in Swords and I liked the feel (and the price) so I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
Thanks,
Pat

Pat

Thanks Gearoid. I don't intend doing any night fishing so it would be wasted on me.

Re: Shore set up
G'day,
I got myself a 14' Daiwa Crosscast Rod. Haven't taken it out yet but I'm happy with it in terms of length, weight and feel.
I'm considering the Daiwa Emcast Surf reel - has anyone got one and what do you think of it?
Thanks,
Pat

Re: Shore set up
Alternatives are Shimano Ultegra 14000 XSC, Penn Battle II Long Cast 8000 or Okuma Trio Rex Salt - anyone using these and what do you think, please?
Thanks,
Pat
