Was wondering if anyone could let me know when mackerel usually arrive around Kerry? Have a week planned mid-May near Waterville. Last year was around Clifden in June and did not see any at all, which left us struggling for bait...

you could try Culoo rock on Valentia Island, not the safest place on the planet to fish. fish only on the calmest of days. http://www.independent.ie/regionals/ker ... 22854.html

Spent a lot of time in Kerry Last summer on the north coast though and did not see mackerel in any good numbers at all. Saying that i was catching the odd few from may weekend on wards but they where few and far between.
