East cork

People: myself and and a friend

Duration: 8.30 pm to - 12.30 am

Tide: High Tide 23:59 (3.30m)

Weather: Winds did not just come in one direction but swirling and rain

Bait: frozen crab

Rigs: one hook flapper and pulley

Report:

So we decided to go out and seee what all the fuss of storm Desmond was about. I Had some frozen crab left over from a session last weekend which was a disaster as the company i had got cold :? We tried to recruit a few other people to come on-line but they labelled us crazy to go out in the wind. We got to the mark at 8.30 PM it was quite gusty and a little drizzle. It started off positive with a nice bite first cast but missed. This happened another 3-4 times through out the night missing bites :( and it was beginning to look like we made a mistake coming out as high water was approaching. One hour before high tide i had another bite . After 5 - 10 feet of reeling i though i lost another fish. Around 30 yards from the shore then it started to fight and took a serious dive i new i had a decent fish on. low and behold i pulled out a nice big fat cod. All in all
worth going out for that one fish

That is one well earned fish! @ Donal Domeney, my other half wants to know if there is a set of matching trousers to go with that jacket; I'm not sure which of us might wear them.
