Beach fishing Wexford. 01/11/215

#1 Post by JoeBrady88 »

Myself and Krisreid
Location: Wexford
Time: 15:30-11:30
Bait: Crab, Mackerel Lug and Rag
Rigs: Pulley Pennel and 3 Hook Flapper Size 1/0 hooks.
Tide: 22:00 approx
Wind: Very weak Southerly
Species: Bass, Smoothounds, plaice, flounder, whiting, eel and rockling.

Evening started off really slow when we got to our location. I saw an owl seal when we first arrived never a good sign. As darkness fell and the mist closed in we where flat out getting bites. First fish small bass thought we where in for a good night :).

Kris missed a savage bite unfortunately. Found the rag was getting the best results, few whiting fell for the crab. We had 8 plaice 3 whiting 6 bass (5 schoolies) 2 smoothound pups strange for this time of the year. 6 rockling 2 flounder and an eel.

Fantastic night fishing great to see so many species around this time of the year even tho there was no monsters :). 3 or 4 nice size plaice caught and kris had a nice bass.

Nice session lads, good to see a bit of variety. Maybe the Smoothys are expanding their range?!
It ain't easy but it sure is simple!

Busy session lads, well done.
The first good South East gale will probably send them smoothies scarpering South.

Just to say here - we've had over a dozen bass in a few weeks. ALL on worm. This is with Crab baits out at the same time.

Well done lads. Good variety there. Hmm, can't wait to get the sniff of frost in the air to start my Winter sessions.
