Inishowen Penninsula Particularly Moville pier

#1 Post by Sandstorm »

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anybody has fished the pier at Moville. The one in Moville it's self, if so could they give me a few pointers as to the best type of bait and rig's that work best. I am hoping to fish it next week sometime and any info would be welcome. :)

Its a bit of a Hit or Miss I am afraid possible best location for easy access in that area would be over the sea wall at Green Castle pier between ferry crossings or a few miles up the road to Culdaff and Bunagee Pier

Many thanks Gerry I know about the wall at Greencastle but unfortunately I can't use that mark as I am disabled and piers are better suited for me as I can't really walk any great distance or clamber across rocks the way I use to :). I might give Culdaff pier a go though. Thanks for the input anyway.

Sandstorm, are you talking to about the pier at the Hair of the Dog bar? If you are, the pier a few hundred yards down the road towards Derry can be better, although still hit and miss. There's a big brute of a conger who lives there and has been caught a few times on mackeral or whole squid. The occasional ray has been caught here in season.

As DerryGerry said, you'd probably be better heading to Bunagee Pier or Leenan even.
