Bass Sessions 13th and 14th

#1 Post by freedom1916 »

Had a couple of bass session on my local mark on the 13th and 14th.

Both evening where warm and calm with a good surf on a flooding tide.
Right from the off we where getting flounder every 3rd to 4th cast.
Great to getting good numbers of flounder off this mark as they have been very scarce the last few years.
As i waited for another flounder bite the line suddenly went slack.
Picked up the rod ,reeled down and lifted into a hard fight bass.
After a cracking fight i landed a good size fish which weighted in a 7lbs to my amazement as it looked bigger.
Took at least 10 mins kneeling in the surf to get her to go back but eventually off she went.

About 30 mins later and no slack line this time rod went over and in a heart beat i knew id another on.
after another good fight a bass of about 5lbs landed. quick pic and straight back.

Came back the following night and got another few flounder and another bass of about 5lbs.
Two good nights on a local mark.
Only bad thing was dropped my slosh on the 2nd night and cracked the frame and broke a piece off the end case.

Sounds like perfect conditions, fine bass and plenty of flounder in between to keep you busy. Pity about the reel.
