People; On me tod.
Duration; 8 til midnight.
Tide; Haven't a clue.
Weather; Mild NE wind, little surf.
Bait and rigs; Frozen crab on a pulley out as far as I can cast. Rag on a double hook flapper varying distances.
Results; Smoothound and doggies.
This was my first beach fishing trip in years, a quick visit to Courtown angling in the afternoon sorted me out with the rigs and bait and I was fishing just outside Courtown.
Started getting bites on the rag straight away, doggies and smoothound pups to beat the band but nothing of any size.
I had a couple of smoothound pups on the crab but missed the only decent bite when it pulled over the rod stand, I guess I'm a bit out of practice!
After about 11 o clock the flapper rig was getting stripped without any bites registering so I assumed small whiting were or crabs were doing their thing.
It was great craic though, I'd forgotten how much fun a god shore session is.
