Good for the soul and all that, after all, beats the minibus edition of Eastenders on a Sunday afternoon :D

Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial

We work to a 20cm minimum size for many species. So unless we went below that there's no way to up the number of counters caught. I tend to use a size 2 or occasionally a size 4, but generally tend towards the larger hook size to avoid meeting non-conters. I figure there's no point in dropping the hook size on the off chance of hitting a counter and damaging a pile of juvenile fish in the process. Stocks are bad enough as it is.....
In an ideal world I'd like to see the minimum size set at 25cm for most species but if we did that, whole clubs would blank in competitions, instead of about half of them on any given day.
It's sad that we're already down to scratching for tiddlers off the beaches. What's next?
