The Bay

#1 Post by anthony byrne »

I was hoping to head North this weekend as Graham Smith has been on the Tope this week but with the weather so messed up I decided not to make the 8 hour round trip, hindsight's a bitch as the lads were on good fish early morning !
I ended up fishing the local bay in search of wrasse. First fish of the day was a Ballon which fell to rag

From there things went quiet for awhile so switched over to some shrimp rigs I picked up cheap at the swords show. A couple of jigs in and the Pollock started to turn up. Just a few tiddlers at first but then had one over 30cm, not a giant but better than the previous ones

I headed futher into the bay in the hope of some flats but it wasnt to be, the pin Whiting were in force stripping all the baits that went in.

Good to see some species turning up on the East Coast, Ill be hoping for a few Cod in the coming weeks and definitely a road trip !

It's a bugger when you make a decision and the alternate one works out better but at least you got out and got a few fish. :D
