Report:
finshed work at 5.15 and after a quick bit to eat we were on the road at 6 talk on the way was about were to fish after a bit of debate we headed for arklow sth but as we came into arklow john said he would show me a little mark he used to fish years ago with great results so me being easy i agreed even if it was just to have a look and see a new mark soon we were on a little small beach that looked fishey with a nice surf rolling in but when we got out of the car the wind was howling up the beach so john pointed out a few rocks to the left that he said would give us cover from the gale so off we went up over the rocks and what a differance it made flat calm so we set up and out went the rods we did not have to wait long for the bites to start first cast i had a 30cm codling and on the next cast i lost what felt like a good fish after that the fishing was steady enough with the whiting up to 32cm and a few dogs keeping us going then around 11.30 i got a good tump on one of the rods and hit into a fish witch i was hoping to be my first bass of the year but no it was a 45 cm codling weighing just over 2lb only whiting after that and i finshed with a double flounder so at 1.30 am we decided to pack up just as the rain was starting all in all a very enjoyable session on a new mark that i will be back to fish many more times pics to follow
