Mizen Pensinula

#1 Post by Gabikyla »

People:
Me and two hungarians

Duration: 4 hours

Tide:
outgoing

Weather:
beautiful
Bait:
lures and mackeral

Rigs:
The best I could :)
Results:

Mackeral and my first of about 50 pollock :D

Report:
Took my guests to mizen for the day and stopped off fishing on the way home, Beautiful day down that way. We had handy polllock at nearly every cast for the first few hours but nothing big. We had a few macks and a seal watching us :)

Seeing as they are from a land locked country they were amazed by it all. I really enjoyed it too.

is this just a baby pollock or something else ?

Yeah the pollack colouring can vary a lot (moreso in the younger ones I think too) depending on where they are living - i remember fishing for them off Rosscarbery pier 10-15 years back and they were all coloured like that... very striking.
