anyone recommend a fish finder for starting off?

anyone recommend a fish finder for starting off?

As above can anyone recommend 1 for starting off im looking at a garmin echo 550 anyone have any recommendations thanks

I have an Echo 550 myself. Very happy with it. It is a very advanced unit so it will serve you well for a long time.
There probably is a version with down scan imaging at this stage.

I got one of the smaller Garmin units, the DV151. It's a cheap and simple to use, but with great detail. I'd used Lowrance and Eagle before so wasn't sure about trying the Garmin. I can say now that it's every bit as good as, if not better, price for price....

Go for the Garmin. I've had a several models, they're all excellent and go forever.
