Wicklow bass quest

#1 Post by Eoghan »

People: Me, Steve, Frank

Duration: 6.30 til 10.30

Tide: last 2 of drop and first two of rise

Weather: Too bloody hot

Bait: Every lure in the box

Rigs: NA

Results: Blank

Report:

After a drive from work, a bit of trekking and scrambling we get to a rock mark and my heart sinks. The wind has kicked up a nice surf but this has in turn clouded the first 30 yards of the water. Bugger. The water outside this was nice blue and clear. Still chucked lures like a maniac but nothing. One small tap i suspect was a pollock. Slowed the retrieve right down and eved used slow to static retrieve with the weedless SP's. Nothing. Still good to get out.

Lures used :

feed Shallow Ayu
Do live stick 6" gray/white
Small silver Kilty
maria mucho lucir BBH
SG Sandeel pearl
senko worm blue/green
Slver/black Krill

To be honest, rightly or wrongly once I saw the murky water I wasnt exactly brimming with confidence. I had a 100% success rate from this mark last year. Plenty of seals etc..

One highlight was using my new Rarenium with 15Ib sunline braid. Some serious distance when using the metal lures.
Top 3 lure caught bass 2017 :
10Ib 5 oz
9Ib 2oz
8Ib 11oz

Probably would have been better off trying a beach a bit closer to home Eoghan.
Still as ya said, "nice to get out".
