nth wexford hounds

#1 Post by sea serpant »

People:me and mate

Duration:10pm - 3.30 am

Tide:dropping

Weather:amazing

Bait:crab

Rigs:

Results:10 hounds

Desided on a last min hound session yesterday evening and even though the weather earlier on was bad and the tides were against us we said eff it and bundled the tackle into the car sorted some crab and shot off to my fav nth wexford smut mark .. after it been lashing all day the weather couldnt have been better when we arrived and thankfully it stayed that way throughout the night .. Fishing was slow for the first hour but after that the action came pretty fast and steady with hounds hitting our baits til we packed I think it was nine or ten hounds between the two of us by the end the biggest one was a chunky 6.5 pounds so all in all a success and a beautiful night to be out chasin a few smuts

Well done Sea Serpant, we fished a North Wexford beach for a couple of hours last Thursday night and had nothing but small pups. A near 5lb bass made the effort worthwhile, but we were disappointed there were no half decent hounds.

Thanks mate ye the bigger ones are there I'm finding more and more that the bigger hounds are being caught on the drop or when the tide is just about to turn I find the incoming tide brings in all the pups but a five pound bass is a lovely fish fairplay a lad we were talking to on the beach had one last week to a small piece of squid and it looked about seven pounds a lovely fish
