Bangor Peir

#1 Post by David »

People:Me

Duration:17.00-23.50

Tide:High

Weather:Mild and Calm

Bait:Lug and rag tipped with Mac

Rigs:" hook prags

Results:2 Whiting and Crabs (all returned)

Report: Many bites but still getting used to sea fishing techniques, A tame seal hovered around all night waiting for scraps, probably scared the fish off. Know a great place for King Rag thanks to this site and realise why people keep the locations secret. So I aint telling.

Where abouts in Bangor did you fish mate?
What size of Hooks were you using?
And what size of baits?
I'd expect more from Bangor at this time of year... Usually a Haven for Small Whiting, and Coalies, with Congers and Rockling in the Holes too..
2015 Lure: Pollack, Herring, Whiting, Sand Goby, Poor Cod, Pouting

42 Species to beat 2011 & 2014

I had one rod set with size 2-4 hooks and the bigger rod set with 0/3, Lug, Rag and Mac from very small to large baits, fished from the platform.

20 Yd Lob into the Gulley or Full force arm wrenching Pendulum?

When I fished Bangor (Before I realised Donaghadee is better) it wasn't unusual to pick up 30 or 40 Whiting in a Night... Sometimes many more... :?
