Wicklow Bar of Silver

#1 Post by JOHN1 »

People:me

Duration:2.5 hours

Tide:flood

Weather:ok

Bait:lures

Rigs:

Results: yes the results i was looking for.

Report:I recently had a bit of time on my hands, so into the car armed with lures and rod and off i went in search of silver, heard this particular beach was producing an odd fish so it was worth the drive over the wicklow border to see if i could sort one out, i wasnt disapointed when i was taming this 8.75lb and 75cm long fish
bass rod 8.75 75cm.jpg
,what a cracking fight.i had a couple of spectators watching so it made it a bit more special, first guy couldnt take picture on phone so with a stroke of luck some more tourists came along the walk and kindly done the honours with the camera
me and bass 8.75lb 75cm.jpg
. i dont think i have landed a better bass, i know i have seen and lost some decent ones but this one made it to dry land so a new pb for me 8)

See I dont get that at all. Why wouldnt anyone share what lure they catch a fish on..?. I understand not giving out a mark, but the lure..? Do you think if I use the same lure all the fish at your marks will leave and instanly swim to where I am fishing coz im using that lure..? Im not having a go at you mate but I have come across this before and I cant see the reason behind it.
How are people to learn from a catch report if we dont try to teach what we have learned..?

I was having a joke mate.
I'm saying a soft plastic anyhow bounced in the sand by the way the tide was behind you in photo.
Could be wrong though.
I'm going to say a Sand eel

One last thing the 832 teklon.
Why that model. ?
I'm looking for a new piece.
Was told by a few the 802
But a lot using the 832

Is the 832 the 9ft !

How much power in rod. As in landing that fish did it put a bend in rod or stay stiff ?
