Ringo Star

I thought I'd post this as I feel credit, where credit is due,I'll try to keep it simple and to the point.. earlier this year I bought a Vercelli spyra alba surf on this site ,the rod was in great condition, having seen very little use...fished a comp.with it and loved it, next day went to clean it.....to find loads of hairline cracks in the middle section spiggot...was speechless for a few seconds, followed by a shed load of fu*ks!...after calming down ,and trying to figure out the next move I made a few calls, with little success, few days later I went to Gotcha Angling, to have a word with the owner, John "ringo" Ring,he had already sourced a hard to get Vercelli Piuma Power rod for me, so I was hoping to get some advice as to the next step...I've always found Ringo easy to deal with, he's friendly , knowledgeable, and an good Match angler, both shore and boat..one thing I like with John, he never uses two words when one will do, my plea for help was met with "leave it with me".a few weeks later a replacement middle section was pushed over the counter, and a small few euro changed hands, happy days...here's the point lads..If I had bought this from continental web site, I shudder to think of the difficulties I may have had with getting this resolved inc . shipping costs etc, But there is an upside when buying local, one hand wash's the other, Support your local tackle dealers...it Pays dividends, believe me... thanks again John. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I love a bargain and always look for value for money, but try to look at the bigger picture too, prices in some tackle shops might be dearer than else where ,but I admire someone trying to make a go of it, dont get me wrong , I use Veals when need to, but got top class service without any drama in Gotcha. :D
