Report:i was often thinking about fishing through the night so with the 21st being the shortest night and high tide at 2am i decided to go for it,i posted my idea online and 5 lads from clifden decided to join me
we were set up at the mark at 21:30,we were in to fish on the first cast, dogs, rays and codling started showing and tom had a lovely rockling after 2hrs fishing kieran hooked in to something big,the fish took a lot of line and then went to ground,he had a bend on the rod for 30mins trying to get it to move,it started to move and took about 50m more line and went to ground again, then after 45 mins the hook pulled out of the fish and he landed a dog on the top hook
it only took over a hour to land a dogfish

he was well fit for a bit of grub and a coffee after that fight so it was time to throw a few burgers on the pan, nicest bit of grub i ever tasted we had a few euro in a pot for the longest fish and for the most species and as the light started to break most of us started casting lures and feathers to try for pollack and mackerel to add to the species list, everyone added both species, after awhile the place came alive when a big shoal of mackerel started to break the surface,we stocked up on a bit of bait
i also got a small gurnurd on a feather which surprised me when the mackerel moved out we all started to fish the bottom again and the rays started to show,it was none stop action with them as well
rob had 27 ray and alvin was close behind him with 25 ray and joe had 23
we were all getting tired after that so decided to call it a day
tom won the longest fish with his conger and i won the species hunt with 6 species, most of the other lads had 5 species so it was close
everyone was delighted with the session and are talking of doing it again next year
