agree paul - its a ballan with a different pattern

the black dot near the upper surface near the tail fin is crucial

Cheers skelly. Just seen the yellow colour and was more likely trying to convince myself it was a goldshinny, because I cant seem to catch one 8 (. Il get em one day. The m8 had that wrasse on the float rod but with a bottom rig on it. at first I thought he was snagged but no that brut 45cm came out after some great action for my friend who only started fishing. You cannot beat the smile a good fish puts on someones face... Anyone any idea of the weight?
