175 warrior fuel tank beware
hi, just to let fellow warrior owners know about a serious safety problem with my fuel tank, I was having engine trouble on and off, more on than off, everything was going wrong, last week I had a fuel lift problem, filled it with 94litres of fresh petrol and everything ok ,we were out fishing and same problem occurred again, now the tank is ment to be a 90ltr tank which at the moment is debateable, cut a long story short, the tank was completely corroded from the inside out, and the out side in, a problem known to warrior, I know of three other 175s with the same problem, its 7 years old and warrior did not want to know because it was outside the 5 year warranty ,the 94ltrs of fuel was in the hull, we were out fishing on a fire bomb, repair job, new stainless tank fitting etc, about 1000euro,very poor customer service from warrior, I would not ever buy a warrior again or recommend one, all engine problems caused from the corrosion been brought from fuel tank to engine, customer service more like serious health and safety, boat could have went bang, I recommend all 175 owners to check there fuel tanks, as the smell of petrol in the lockers is passed of as normal for a 175,eddie...........

An Incredulous responce from warrior boats to a terrible safety issue
Is it going to take a boat blowing up before they have a recall to fix this lethal problem.
unreal.

yes martyn,it was so bad that the inspection hatch on transom was also completely eroded by petrol fumes, the man who is doing repair but his hand through it by accident, now I know why boats can go on fire........

Eddie, there are better boats out there, and you keep dry !Its like a fashion statement and every one wants one.talk to Kevin from the Bellavista! A very bitter pill to swallow for a built in tank! Thank god it didn't go bang ! Rob

Not good from Warrior. Why on earth are there built in fuel tanks on small boats like this, I can't think of one advantage.

Read about this incredible problem elsewhere when I was thinking about a trade-up to a 175. Wouldnt step aboard one now. And not a peep about all this in the angling press of course....
If it happened to me I'd go after them in the Small Claims Court. With large expensive items, Irish consumer legislation gives you an expectation of service of many years beyond warranty. I took Apple to court over an out-of-warranty failed computer screen and won. It cost me €15....
