Portmuck 24 Jan

#1 Post by glengormley-gavin »

People: The bro and myself

Duration: 18.45 to 23.15

Tide: Dropping from a High at 18.00

Weather: Nice!! No wind, 7'c No rain

Bait: Rag, mack, squid and sandeels

Rigs: Pulley, 3 hook booms and 2 hook paternoster

Results: 20+ Chinese Fish, 2 codling and two crabs!!

Report:

T'was a good night and a lot more enjoyable than recent trips because we actually caught something!!!

Very eventful night with a fish or two every few minutes, the bait took a real hammering because most of the fish were small and kept stripping the baits. All fish fell to mack and rag and the mack was particularly successful.

The weather made it feel like April/May time which was a real bonus.

It has been a while now since we fished this mark but one I would recommend to all as it is a very peaceful and relaxing spot.

Oh and by the way, Chinese Fish = Whi-Ting
