Report since the bass ban was on me and friend hit youghal for a flounder bash so quick phone call to john and bait was sorted. On arrival in youghal John informed us that cod had been taken from shore spring run maybe still very late I thought anyway with that info off we went to fish new mark for us.set up the rods and cast out the baits we did not even get a chance to sit down both rods were bending i thought to myself that's a cod bite if I ever saw onenicely the fish put up a nice fight on the way in and bobs your uncle 2 codling on the shore and nicely fed aswell. The buddy had a flounder and codling it went on this way for the next few hours with a nice few species the buddy lost a nice fish close in,his rig came off clip for some reason but that's fishing. It was one of the best bait fishing sessions we had in awhile mainly coz we were not expecting cod,the weird thing is we fished the same spot 3 days later and not a sniff of cod only flounder.the biggest cod went 40cm and thanks again john for bait and info.
