People: me fein

Duration: 7 to 10.30pm

Tide: rising

Weather: light sw, warm enough

Bait: crab, razor, mac

Rigs: 2 hook clipped, 3 hook flapper

Results: 1 flounder 2 whiting

Report: after being busy with the dogs the night before i was sure the smuts would be about - the conditions had calmed down a lot and i decided to chance a southern beach. had a quick look and no weed!
great - rods out and fishing

nothing at 50/60m and nothing in close after 2 hours
was sure the settled conditions after the blow would have brough them on the feed

bit of dusk and flounder in close - then the dreaded whiting kicked in
decided to pack up and save my bait for when there are some real fish about

didnt see too many headlights down the coast so obvoiusly those in the know knew there wouldnt be much happening and were elsewhere last night

I found the fishing to be the same in South Wexford on Saturday night with only one fish for the session.
But sure it's early days yet for the Summer species.
