Waterford Bass 27/04/14

#1 Post by Bassy Tom »

People:me

Duration:6hrs

Tide:high to low water

Weather:dry, moderate NW wind

Bait:Fresh Crab

Rigs:4/0 pulley

Results:1 Bass 57cm

Report:Water clarity was not the best for the lure fishing this morning so i opted for bait instead. I decided to get an early start and headed out at dawn to fish the dropping tide in an estuary. The tide was starting to run very strongly and there was quite a bit of weed present, so i decided to put my bait where the current met the slacker water. First cast out with a nice big fresh crab on a 4/0 pulley rig. I was starting to set up my second rod when i noticed a tap on the first so i picked up the rod. Fish on, a fine strong spring Bass of 57cm. I had another fruitless 5 hrs or so after that but i still had a smile on my face, a great morning outing.
