W Waterford 31st March & 1st April

#1 Post by Stan »

People: Me, Willie, Jim

Duration: Monday 7 hours, Tuesday 3 hours

Tide: Rising

Weather: Monday mixed, Tuesday very cold

Bait: Crab, Lug, Rag, Razor

Rigs: 2 up 1 down

Results : Headed down south as the winds looked good for Monday. Looked for a beach that had nice surf and little weed.

Cast out first rod and while I was setting up the second my rod was nearly pulled out of the stand. A nice little bass around the 3lb mark fought every inch of the way in :D :D :D
My bass W Wat 0314.jpg
That was it for the next 5 hours when we were near the top of the tide. Willie caught a nice flounder. Jim then had 3 in a row and I followed that with another one.

Willie’s rod buckled over and he pulled in a nice plump bass. :D :D :D

Next day we got a tip off of another beach that was producing bass and the odd cod. The wind was NE and very cold. We fished without a bite for 3 hours and then decided to head home.

Not a bad start to the first fishing outing of 2014.
