Headed down to Wicklow with Skell and James to do a bit of mini species fishing.
The night was perfect for it but the water was like soup; but nonetheless we started catching fish from the off. Pollock and Whiting (25cm) coming in on the light gear. I had one rod out at distance hoping for the odd Dogfish to show but not a bite until we decided to head home. Reeling in the last cast I noticed a bit of weight on the line; landed a nice plumb little Codling of 30 cm or so.
So we decided to have one last cast each (which of course turned into 2 casts).
Skell had 2 dogs one after another, I had another Codling much the same as the other one; 30 cms or so. James then landed a double on my Rod; another 30 cm Codling and a nice Whiting around the 34cm mark. The Codling all went for Crab, Ragworm and Mackerel did the job for the rest of the fish.
James also had a nice Tompot Blenny to add to his species list.
Lovely evening to be fishing and catching was a bonus.

It was good to get out alright and a few fish, what else could ya ask for lol.

Fairplay to ya,s gettin out lads and keepin the rod tips busy won't be long now before the bass and hounds are keeping everyone on their toes
