Never tried it either, but the following may help with collecting bait, travel directions, a pic of the place etc

Kinnagoe Bay: Rock fishing at either end of the bay for pollack and wrasse. Beach fishing for flounder, dabs, plaice and occasional sole and bass. Dogfish and spurdog in autumn.
Coast Road (Lough Foyle): Along the coast road on the way to Moville lugworm, ragworm and crab can be caught.

Handy enough to get to so. The wreck, if memory serves (open to correction here) is that of a Spanish Armada vessel. It'd have been wooden hulled so will, I'd say, be either buried or reduced long since to matchwood.
Anyhow, I can't cast far enough to hit wrecks.
I'm sure some of the diving sites will have info on it...

fished this beach on many occasions and its not good. trout can be taken but not worth the trip, culdaff beach turns up trout far more regular.
there is a spanish armada wreck to the left of the beach, divers usually just swim out to it.
Just does not fish the way it should. going to try the far right this year and some diffrent tides. (i always say this and get two night of blanks and never bother fishing it again for another year)

Only ever fished it once, 3 off us spent a weekend on it. We only managed few flounder and they didn't come till around dawn time.
The only thing that keeps this place in my mind is that when we arrived on the Saturday afternoon we saw a shoal of something about 1/2 mile out swimming around, just the fins on the surface the odd one would have made a bit of splash on the surface but never enough to fully see what they were.
More than likely porpoises or the like... :?
that was as exciting as it got !

Its a pity it doesn't fish as well as it looks as there are few nicer backdrops than Kinnegoe. The wreck is the Trinidad Valencera, lots of spaniards drowned when she sank which makes it an eerie enough place to fish at night. Popular spot for beach parties in the summer, so you've been forewarned!
