Heavy duty tape
Where is the best place to get the heavy duck tape/padded tape for beech caster handles.
Tape that is used for bicycle handle bars is best for rods, the best make is Karakal, check it out on their website, I think it is http://www.karakal.com

Don't use duck tape tho - you will find that the adhesive goes all gooey after a while. The tape for tennis racket handles or bike handlebars as mentioned above would be far better.
Malaysia/Singapore Species list: Grouper, Catfish (Salt water), Puffa fish, Barracuda, Sea Pike, Gar Fish, Giant Trevally, Leopard Murray Eel, Grass Carp, Sardine, Rainbow Runner, Chinese Mackerel, Flying Fish, Stingray, unidentified reef fish, Dorado (Dolphin Fish), Gelama, Ketuka, Flathead, Striped Tuna, Chicken Fish, Red Snapper, Fingermark Snapper, Emperor Snapper, White Snapper, Golden Snapper, Sweetlip, Blue Spotted Ray, Sailfish, Parrot Fish, Whiting and a whole bunch of others!

Veals do a lot of stuff for customising your rod including tapes and wraps

Mark,
I have some of that stuff. Its OK for short grips, like above and below the reel seat and at the bottom of the butt on a fixed spool rod. Not very good when used as shrink tube on a long butt section, unlike the other stuff I got it doesnt shrink enough and when its tight on the blank it can still move and twist, you can put an upholstery spray on glue onto the blank first, but I think it would break down in time.
The stuff I got is Korean, I know Terry Carroll (Zziplex) got some Japanese stuff a couple of years ago, to sample...wait for it......it cost £38.00 per yard!

Pookie,
That tape on ebay is Karakal, I gave the link earlier in this thread, your right it is the best tape on the market, bar none!! but they are charging a lot for it on ebay, you can get it for half that price, send karakal an email, I'm sure they will let you know who in your area sells it.
Another point on that stuff for anyone getting in touch with Karakal, tell them what you want it for. They have some tapes that absorbs sweat, not very good for our needs, it hold water ang gunge too.
They have some fantastic stuff in rubber with a great grip, better than anything I have ever tried.
They should pay me for this, right 8)

Shrink tube
Hi all,
For those looking for the x-pattern shrinktube it will be available from Belfast Angling Centre shortly. The down side is that it is around £12 per 1 1/2 metres as far as I know! It shrinks down well with boiling water but you need lots of it.
Harry gets it from Conoflex direct. He also has iMax rods in stock.

Hi,
Harry will have the tubing people want for sale shortly, does anyone else supply it locally? If so please tell us as we can't all make it out to the Shore Road.
I mentioned the rods as others were asking about them on another tread. Now they have a chance to see and handle them before handing over their money. There was no intention to plug Harry's shop directly but he does have the items people are asking about. If any other tackle shops have these items please let us all know.
