Thats a fairly old lightweight boat, only around 250 odd kg, they were rated for a long shaft engine between 8 and 50hp back in the day when there was only 2 stroke outboards around, (Bear the weight difference in mind between 2 and 4 strokes) id say if you could get a 25 or 30 hp 2 stroke to put on her it would push it along very nicely

If the boat is rated to 50hp something says to me that it will be a bit of a lame duck with a 20hp.

Have a look at the Shetland Owners Forum:http://www.shetland.owners.org.uk/forums/show_thread.asp?g=1&replyid=5545&forumid=4

Done a very quick search and found quite a few of them were run on 25hp 2strokes, i would be looking at like i said before least a 25 but 30 would be nice  here is an old add for them, it says a 25 would be enough to pull a water skier  http://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=& ...
