must be a lot of snags exposed after all the storms - few weeks/months before the sand is back?
hard luck

Launched a boat there in September at low water. There is a small gap in between the peirs about 20' by 20'. Other than that it was solid kelp bed all the way out to 100' and more in places. It is a graveyard for rigs.

I've had those days. Whenever I feel that the fishing bag is getting too heavy I head off to a local mark that snags up a lot. Takes the weight out of the bag. Look on the bright side.
List 2010. fish

List 2011: less fish

2012: less fish again,

2013: even less fish.

head to Passage East, quality comfortable fishing, the pier Is hard work at the best of times but even more so in Winter.

Match venues to likely species. Not too many Winter species easily caught from the pier relative to other places.

There some realy big tides next week a 4.6 on Sat the 1st, try the slip a couple of days before if the surf is right and you should have a few fish.

Tough going when sessions go against ya, take the positive out of it, ya lost a bit of gear but gained some valuable knowledge, fair play lad.
