525 Mag no box tools manual etc.

#1 Post by David »

Would it be wise to buy a Mag 525 with no tools, box, manual, just the reel on its own, are the other bits and bobs needed.
Thanks

You would only normally need a screwdriver to remove the end-plates for the 525 and red-rocket fuel to oil the bearings - both of which can be bought seperately if you don't have them. As for the manual, the info is on Neil Mackellow's site.
Malaysia/Singapore Species list: Grouper, Catfish (Salt water), Puffa fish, Barracuda, Sea Pike, Gar Fish, Giant Trevally, Leopard Murray Eel, Grass Carp, Sardine, Rainbow Runner, Chinese Mackerel, Flying Fish, Stingray, unidentified reef fish, Dorado (Dolphin Fish), Gelama, Ketuka, Flathead, Striped Tuna, Chicken Fish, Red Snapper, Fingermark Snapper, Emperor Snapper, White Snapper, Golden Snapper, Sweetlip, Blue Spotted Ray, Sailfish, Parrot Fish, Whiting and a whole bunch of others!

No problem. Have a look at the other question to the 525 Mag further down this list and follow the link there.

If you are buying one, have a look at e-bay as there can be some good bargains to be had at this time of year.

you dont need the tools provided at all. As the lads said just a screwdriver, possibably round nosed pliers is all thats needed

For tuning screw driver is all that is needed and a schematic should be easy enough to get hold of. For removing the handle mechanism for the likes of an annual service there are a couple of spanners provided that are needed but it should be no big issue to get spanners to fit.
