bar mouth co londonderry

#1 Post by pookie5488 »

Has anyone fished of the 2 arms that come out as break waters.

I have only ever seen pictures. How or were do you park close and is it safe and wide enough to fish off.

What would you target and with what tackle and bait

theres a photo or two in the shore marks album, on a low tide you can drive right up beside thepier on castlerock beach, beware of incoming tide though!!!
best only fished in calm conditions and can be badly effected by rogue waves or a flood in the river.
main species, flounder , a few codling and whiting in the winter from the end of the pier.the odd bass may also turn up.
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

Can we all agree to differ over the Derry/Londonderry thing please?

A bit of banter is to be encouraged, but any sectarian bulls**t will not be tolerated.

This site is run as open to all in a spirit of inclusiveness. It's about anglers talking to anglers, regardless of race, religion, colour, political outlook etc.

Anyone not happy with that, please press Alt + F4 now.

Well said Sandman!

Never fished here but it certainly looks worth a go.
Even a bad days fishing is better than working.

politics

#13 Post by kieran »

Hi

Let me just add as far as this site is concerned "politics is for politicans".

We've asked people to let whatever preferences they have slide past - not dififcult to do, agree to disagree, etc.

The tolerance for disagreement / differences of opinion on these boards on all topics (not just nameplaces or borders) has been commented on very positively by lots of anglers, especially visitors from the UK where sniping and other nonsense on bulletin boards is a common problem.

We do appreciate your co-operation; it is a key to the success of the site.

Thanks (from a Dub living in Mayo)

BTW, can you resize the photos lads, I've only a small screen! :D
Kieran Hanrahan

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Yup, what did you think it would do? Pull your nose?

For those who can live without a mouse, in a Windows environment, ALT+F4 will close whatever window has focus.....
