Just a quick report lads as I've been spurred into going fishing (If you ask where you deserve a slap, lol).

The show, as usual was orientated towards game Fishing, But that didn't matter. The banter was brilliant, and there was definitely sufficiant tackle to keep us occupied for 5 Hours.
I ended up leaving with a New Shakespear Seat Box, A New FS (Unbranded but when you turn the handle she keeps going for a good 10 - 15 Seconds, Mmmmmm), and another 5m Beachcaster (Once again will clarfiy Brand later). Plus a Mountain of Terminal tackle...

I'm happy. 8)

personally i didnt find it that great for the sea angler with very little to offer apart from a few good beachcasters on the hd agencies and braddells stalls. although i was told that plans were to increase the sea aspect of the show for next year , hopefully to attract some of the english mail order guys over etc.

it was good to have a chat with paddy and micheal on the north west charter skippers stands and picked up some very handy info.
for the game or coarse man it seemed to have almost all you could want in terms of tackle but disappointing not to see a single solely sea angling tackle stall or manufacturer in sight.a small selection of boats were on display also.
just hope its a bigger and better set up for the sea angler next year.

now you mentioned you were cartin a big blue shakespeare box around i did see you up there k2 and also met kissmywrasse on the way in.

if it was the power surf 5m rod you got k2 i gave it a good going over, for £25 you couldnt go wrong with it, the only thing that didnt suit me was that the reel seat was a bit too high up on it, but apart from that it looked like it had good bite dectection in the tip and seemed through casting action when i gave it a good bending ,well to tell the truth i actually tried to break it with the sales rep hanging on the tip but had no success!!!
got a few bits and bobs of terminal tackle that i noticed were cheaper than normal but some of the stuff was also way over priced.

Lads, I ordered some gear from Tonys Tackle a couple of days ago and he tells me hes got a stall at the Dublin show so hes gonna bring the stuff over, save me paying postage so there could be some decent gear on offer there, if you think its worth the journey

Should have said Hello Phil! and yes, I wiped a good 15 People out with the Seat Box of Doom... and yes... I knew I was doing it. 8)

Took the New Rod out for a chuck last night and couldn't fault it, I'm easily chucking as far with it as a am with the Blue metal Xtreme! The Reel Seat on the Blue Metal is approx 5 Cm Higher than on the 500.

What make of rod was that and who was selling them? I'm starting to feel the urge to get a longer rod.

(Blanked last night - has to be the rod's fault...)

sandman, if you are lookin a longer rod but dont want to spend much on one perhaps look at the ron thomson x symetry or penn powerstik (both 15ft) rt rod about £49 and the powerstick £140/135 with free 525gs multiplier or surfmaster70 fixed spool.
x symettry is a very good rod for the money
