River suir,Waterford

Duration:13:30-17:00


Tide:High water at 16:30

Weather:overcast


Bait:Rag,Crab aNd Mack


Rigs:2 hook rigs

Results:One 1.52 lb whiting





Report:Headed out try the suir to see if there was any cod about.No fish even biting and lost a rig to a shopping trolley.When it hit high water I lost two fish (Didnt get to see what they where).Picked up the rod after a small knock and hauled up a beauty of a whiting,specimen I think??Anway tasted lovely!!!!!

Nice Whiting but still a bit off specimen weight, 1.36 Kgs is the specimen weight for shore caught Whiting.
But still a class fish by today's standards.

Plenty of big ones in river just use rag,its the only bait they are taking

as a matter of intrest were did you get your rag did you dig them or buy them ? its not good to be digging rag after the end of october thats when they start to spawn give them a chance to breed and there will be a good supply around next year
