People:myself
Duration:3pm-5pm

Tide:8.30pm

Weather:
good water flat calm
Bait:
crab
Rigs:2/0 pennell

Results:one mackerel

Report:
decided to tackle a rock mark in kinsale harbor first cast bait slipped off the hook due to forgetting to put bait elastic on and on the way back seen the line moving in the water thinking might be a small pollock or something was a mack bit of an odd one for this time of year went on fishing with high levels of interest shown in the crab from 4.30 -5pm but couldnt hook up i reckon it may have been flatties think the hooks may have been to big or i was just doing something horribly wrong lost well over 5-6 good solid bites jw anyone any advice as to whether to leave the fatties at the bait for awhile or what ?

Same thing was happening to me the other night in kinsale also. Every cast was coming in stripped but I Managed to foul hook one though, small pin whiting...... I'd say it was the same thing as with you.
