New reel.

#1 Post by Deise boy »

My Abu Garcia 304i rd decided to kill itself the other night while I was fishing.
2 months old always cleaned handed in for repair to be told its beyond repair.

Abu Garcia now have an email from me about this.
I was polite I swear !!!!

Anyhow this is my new baby.

The shimano rareium 4000
Read loads of reviews and got great help from absolute fishing Tramore who I can't go past when I need any advice or help. Top lad there.

Cannot wait to get this thing spinning a sasuke

I have one too, lovely reel, nice and smooth. I did have a problem though with the oscillating device, it packed in and I had to send it away for a service. In the meantime I bought a Shimano Aernos 2500 which is a fantastic back up and it's alot cheaper at around €85. I got the rarenium back and I'll now use that on my concept rod and use the other reel on my 6 ft rod.

Cracking reel Deise, I have been using mine for 3 years now, averaging about 3 days a week between Feb and Nov and never had a problem. Once you give it a rinse after every trip and a drop of oil every so often it shouldn't give you any hassle.
